The race is almost upon us. Here are some things to know about the race and being within the Clear Springs Rec Area:
1) Team Sites - All teams will be camping in the "A" loop of campsites. All sites in the A Loop have been reserved for the race. All campsites has power and water and restrooms are at the center of the loop. One team per campsite.
Only Two Vehicles Per Campsite!. The 2 vehicle limit does not include trailers or RV (they're considered "dwellings" by the FS..symantics). If your team has more than 2 vehicles, the extras should be parked away from the A Loop (at the Pavilion) for the duration. Every vehicle will need a form displayed on the dash to show the FS personnel that the car is there for the race. Make sure you get with me to get all the forms you'll need for vehicles at the campsite and vehicles that will be parked at the Pavilion. Don't think you can have 3 cars at a campsite for even just a minute to unload. The FS will ticket you in a heartbeat. Yes, its silly. Its the Federal Government, would you expect anything different?

2) Soloists - Soloists are allowed (even encouraged) to set up camp at the Transition area, now at the Group Campsite (see the Course Change post). Will try to put as many cars as we can at the Group Site, but it may fill up and extra cars will need to be parked at the Pavilion.
3) Clear Springs Rec Area is a Federal facility located in a DRY county. Possession of alcohol is ILLEGAL. The FS personnel will ticket you. Be Smart. DO NOT BE STUPID.
4) The Campground and trails are still open to the public. Be respectful of the other campers and the Campground Hosts.
5) No guns, swords, ninja throwing stars, high explosives, low explosives, firecrackers, smoke bombs, pipe bombs, car bombs, or overuse of F-bombs.
6) At some point Saturday evening (probably around 5:30 or so), I won't let anyone start a new lap without taking lights You might not need to use them right away, but you may end up needing to.
7) Every rider will have to stop and chat with me for 1 minute before leaving for a night lap. This is to ensure that the rider has enough mental faculty to safely make it around the course. Not so much at problem at 9pm, but it starts to show around 3am.
8 ) Do not speed down Clear Springs Rd going to and from the race. once you pass the Rec Area gates, 15-20mph.
Thats all I've got for now...
